Shaving Motor Mounts?

I just recently bought the Megan Racing 4-1 Header along with the matching downpipe. The deal on ebay was too good to pass up. Well Ive been researching the past 30 minutes searching whether we have to shave the motor mounts when installing this or do we have to pull the engine to avoid this. Anyone who has installed these products please post because you have first hand experience and not going by what people have claimed on here about other headers. Remember, Im just wondering about megan racing ss header and downpipe. Maybe I missed it while searching but I could not find an answer. Thanks

The downpipe and header are not connected yet so its really easy. The EX requires no shaving of anything...The only thing is if the header doesnt slide right into place like my DC didnt so I drilled bigger holes for the mounting. Then get under the car and bolt up the downpipe to it and your set. PM me cuz I just did this install recently if you need help.

WTF!?!? Never heard of anything like that. You shouldnt have to touch your motor mounts at all unless you are taking your motor out.

A member a looooong time ago made a DIY for a header that included shaving the motor mounts... turned out that it was completely useless. You don't have to shave them.

you should not have to shave a mount for a header...it is just like your stock one but more free flowing, should not be that much larger by any means...

Yea Thanks guys. I was reading really old posts I guess where the member did shave motor mounts and I had never heard of it before so I kind of shocked me. I work at a honda dealership so I have access to lifts and other mechanics help. Another question I had is does it require a special tool to remove 02 sensors or can i just use a wrench. More then likely I will be Pm'ing jeffsta for help. Thanks
