coil overs

I have heard a lot of people say that coilovers for our car wern't as good as they had hoped or that they destroyed their shock right away, basicly that they led to problems - so I have been thinking about getting springs instead - what does everyone who has done coilovers (specifficaly ground control) think about this. Which way do you think I should go.

depends how low you want to go. If your thinking about lowering the car 1-1.5in then get springs. You'll be happier and you kidneys will thank you for it. If you do plan to get coil-overs get some real ones. The cost is around $1000.

If you want springs, get springs. They will drop you ride height, and wear out your stock struts faster. If you want an adjustable ride height, get coil overs. However you will want to replace your struts also, because most people drop their rides lower than they can with springs, which is part of why the stock struts go bad. The other reason stock struts go bad with coilovers(or springs) is because the new parts are designed with a higher spring rate, and the stock struts weren't designed to handle it. So you can buy a "full" coilover, such as the NEX System, which will run you about 1000, or you can buy a set of Ground Controls, and get a set of Koni struts, all for about 1000. Which ever you way you go to lower your ride height, if you drop more than about an inch, then you're going to want to get camber correction kits also, which will run about 200 or so for a full set.

I personally have Ground Controls, Ingalls Camber Kits and Koni struts.

whatever you do don't ever get matrix coilovers...i have goldline springs and they are really good on my ride. they settled in to about 2 inches and that makes the car look a lot better.
