which route would you guys go for: hi flow cat. converter or a straight pipe? i have the stock header and wanted to know if a hi flow cat would bolt directly onto my OEM header?
hi flow cat and straight pipe are pretty much the same thing. its a matter of what you plan to do to your car in the future. if your doing straight pipe from header to muffler, thats the best idea (well, for me). if your keeping the stock exhaust system and just want a hi flowing cat, look into www.meganracing.com hi flow test pipe if you have an EX model. theirs also random technology brand and carsound i believe. just need to search around and you'll find your options.
btw, by bolting on an hi flow cat or doing straight pipe after header, your malfunction indicator lamp (aka cel light) will go off.

Go with the random tech cat, its street legal and has BOTH o2 bungs, and is really a cat, not just some pass through pipe that throw the CEL. The random tech cat causes NO check engine light and It seems like it actually makes some power....
