Hey guys. I know that this subject has been addressed before, but when I search, I'm not getting any definate answers. I have seen that a lot of the headers out there will throw the Check Engine Light. So my question is, what brand does and does not set the CEL off? I have an 03 EX. Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it!

If you have an EX, top portion (short) headers will not set it off. Full headers might, but there are ways around that like o2 sim or something. If it's an LX, most headers replace the cat and cause the same problem.

Ok, thanks. now I have read that the Kamikaze Header gives a decent gain (i know it won't be huge or anything) so would you recommend those? If not, which?

I have the HP replica generic one off ebay or someplace. It's getting jet coated next year, and the ports are very large. Only reason I got em was to match with the larger head ports. On a stock car tho, they really won't help much. DC is only slightly larger than stock and will work okay. Kamikaze has much larger ports. Only thing you might notice is louder exhaust sound.

The HP Racing full race header wont set off your check engine light. It will be on at first but goes off after a day or 2.

at least thats how mine did it on my 02 ex stick and my gf's 02 ex auto.
