Kamakazie Header

My friend is wondering when he buys a kamakazie header 4 his 04 coupe lx will it light the engine check light?? because the is a cat and that is removed when we install the header.. we dont care bout smog cause well in Hawaii we got no smog check and we have only a saftey check... and 4 that they dont even pop the hood and i go to my friends shop so its all good for the smog part........there is 2 o2 sensors 1 before the header and 1 after

from my personal experience:

The 'Check Engine' light will come on unless an o2 Simulator is used. I had a kamikaze header and bought a 'Caspers Electronics o2 simulator'. Easy to install w/ no problems or lights coming on...hope I helped.

why would you want to tap a new hole? the kamikaze header has the 2 holes for the only 2 02 sensors on the dx/lx/hx's. the only reason the light comes on is because the bottom hole on the header is no longer plugging into the cat like on the stock exhaust manifold and the car senses the cats absence.

You can run a MIL eliminator to get rid of the CEL. Mine cost like 5 dollars when I bought the header a while back. You just need to take off the oem o2 sensor and soder the MIL to the correct wires then tape it back together (really well to protect from harsh weather). I have had it on for 20000kms+ and the CEL has never once come on for me.
