Obx Header dx/lx
Obx Header dx/lx
I ordered the stainless steel header from obx, and was wondering if anyone knows if it is good and will not harm my car. Its has the plus for the sensors, so will my engine light stay off.

It is a waist of money. Send it back and buy something else. You will only get maybe 1-3 HP from it. No, it wont harm your car.
well... I have it.. and the engine check light will be on, since you remove the stock header, so what I did was using a O2 simulator... then the light goes off.
Still, you wouldn't notice any difference... i will say~...

Do You Need A 02 Sensor For The Dx Lx Obx Model Header? It Has To Plugs On It And Is Different Than The Ex Model Header. For The Dx Lx Model Header, Will My Engine Light Stay Off? If I Need A 02 Simulator Can Someone Tell Me When I Can Get One. Thank You
they do the same thing... but some people said the cheap one doesnt work, and it requires cutting and wiring...
The casper one just simply plug it in, and works.
I have the one from bigjoshracing and it works fine with me...

I have obx headers and yeah they do help but u loose low end yes your check engine light will be on and no i havent fixed it yet if you get one of those simulators let me know how it works
i just got the obx header for the civic 03 lx 1.7. I didnt install the 02 sensor for it yet and my engine light isnt on.......is that good that ots not on or do i still need to put the o2 sim?
thanks
thanks
with the car throwing out lights, luck plays a role too. unforunately, im one of those bad luck ppl and got my malfunction lamp on. i have both o2 sensors and seems like my malfunction indicator lamp is gonna be on forever unless i install a sim/elim.
dont be too suprised when the light comes on after a day or 2.. thats what happened to me.. i tried disconnecting the battery and the o2 sensor fuse for 15min, still no luck. so im just running my car with that dam light on, (keep in mind, its not actually harming the engine, its just their to annoy you) so your getting the actual gas mileage your suppose to get, etc etc.
^btw, you wont be able to get zachgeyer to post a sentence or 2, all of his post at like 2-5 words at most.

i had the obx header on my 01 lx with the o2 simulator. the cel didnt come on at first, but after 5 or 10 start-ups it lit. the crappy design of the header made it a bad choice. i was constantly fixing exhaust leaks. i took it off after two months due to this problem as well as the nasty rice sound it gave to my exhaust. the cel stayed on for quite a while, but it eventually went off. learn from my mistakes and dont run the header. its a lot of money for tons of problems and the terrible sound of rice. even though the stock manifold is more restrictive, there isnt a noticeable difference in power vs. the header.
i see. what other problems... will it cause mechanical? if so i will take it off asap.
thnx
