Carbon Fiber Hood w/Pins
I need some help guys. My hood isn't closing and it's because my hood latched is way messed up. I ended up forcing it in but now the hood release cable is snapped so the hood is pretty much scrap metal now. I want to get a carbon fiber hood but I do not want to use the hood lock. My dad can grind the OEM hood off and unscrew the hood lock for me. What I need to know is will 2 hood pins hold the new CF hood locked or do I need another hood lock too?

Thanks! So the 2 pins will hold it even if I don't have a hood lock and all I'll have to do is drill a hole for the pins right or are there already pre-deteremined pin locations? I was thinking about locking them by the head light housing but I've never messed with a hood pin before. Any idea how they work and where to get them at a decent price?

Yeah, two pins should work fine. These seem good and they are a site sponsor I think too... http://www.tornactive.com/search1.cf...m=pins&x=0&y=0
Careful installing them cause it is easy to crack fiberglass/carbon fiber when drilling through it.

yes it will definelt work. I had mine like that on my old CF hood and it didnt move for ****. But I do recommend getting the hood cable fixed because anyone can come up and just remove your hood pins and open your hood and do whatever. Better to have the hood latch and also have hood pins.

Would ya'll recommend getting hood pins for a CF hood even if your hood latch isn't messed up?? I've heard that without hood pins, CF hoods have the potential to fly up when going down the road. Any opinions?

Thanks guys, I'll just be going solely with the Hood pins though and taking my chances because my hood lock is way messed up and its because of an accident I had about a year ago with me and a ditch.

I was rear ended by an SUV while I was taking my right on the street I live on. She didn't yield and cliped my back right bumper, headlight, put a dent in my body and threw me in a ditch bending my frame. Her insurance ended up paying for it but I ended up using that money for my wedding. Finally I've got enough cash to get everything fixed and for the kit

I have done a lot of searching for hood pins and these were the best of the best. http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/defa...ategoryCd=HOOP

FYI Update if anyone cares. I removed the factory hood lock and ended up securing the hood pins and their tight with no pull. I do need to knock the frame down just a bit because it's bent and the radiator covor isn't clearing but other than that it's perfect. Thanks everyone.
