optima yellow installed!
Well I got tired of my stock battery after 2 years. I decided on the optima yellow top because the group 51 model fits perfectly, and because I have a system. Now the only problem was I bought the one where the terminals were switched. So rather than drive back to the store, I spend 3 hours switching the cables around
I also did some modding. The sticker in the top was upside down, so I just peeled it off and threw it away. I then noticed that the battery came with a separate sticker. So I just stuck that on. Looks alot cleaner than the old one. And the yellow matches the neuspeed bar! Looks good.
Initial impressions: Much stronger and consistent starts with no hesitation. Better system performance all the time. Before, it would sound good some days but not others. Also sounds awesome with the car off. And it's a deep cycle, so I can use accessories for hours without the car being on. Overall great product.

Wow. Mine was $105 at farm and fleet, but I didn't want to wait another week to order online. I figure it should last a long time. You guys think it looks okay?

OMG, your engine bay is insanely clean! How long did it take you to do that?
I want to get an Optima too...anyone try mounting it in the trunk to even out the weight?

can you give us some exact numbers?
meaning, if we walk into a local auto parts store and give them that number, they will know wtf im talking about..
or just go in and ask for the yellow top Group 51 and just remember our terminal setup.
overall, i like it alot

Yeah, make sure you get the ones with the terminals reversed, because you'll have to flip the battery around so they are facing inward like in my pic. Just ask for group51. The stock battery says that on it as well. It took me forever because I had to reroute some wires and make everything look nice and clean. I also have that Hyper voltage system hooked up, so I had to do that last.
Otherwise it's just swapping the battery. You keep the stock tray and tie-down. I also had to paint mine black again, because I had it silver with the stock battery. I know, I have a problem

Cold cranking amps will be important for starting the car. Red top has ALOT higher cca than yellow, but yellow is still higher than stock.
The yellow lets you run your system for hours when the car is off, all without ruining the battery.

i got mine through work.
also, dont forget, always always always leave the factory tray and battery cover on your battery. your battery releases gases that corrode your engine bay, the gases will flow in the direction of the fuse box making it the first place for corrosion to form. and always clean your terminals on a regular basis.

Hehe. Get one, it's awesome! Fits exactly like the stock battery. Just don't forget to put some dielectric grease over the terminals before installing the clamps.
nice!! but seems like i don't have any reason to change my battery...it's running strong...
mannnnn...the engine bay's so cleannnn...
gearbox, can you tell me how did you prevent RUST on these spots that i marked??
