it would help vent extra heat if the CF hood is vented......i have one cuz i have turbo which creates lots unwanted heat.

on the contrary my friends.

carbon fiber lightweight? true
carbon fiber is not only light weight, it is a very strong man made material. carbon fiber is as light at aluminum, but yet, it is stronger than steel (people say 10x stronger). Formula 1 (F1) race car's chassis are made entirely of carbon fiber as well as there body. meaning that this is the safest material that wont break as much when you hit a wall going 200 mph. Ferrari also uses carbon fiber for their chassis.

he asked about hoods, not carbon fiber in general. carbon fiber hoods are just for one thing. and that is looks. people say yeah yeah it's so much lighter. but who cares that's it's lighter. honestly, if there ever was a replica oem hood that was light as carbon fiber, but looks the same as your oem hood, no one would spend money to get the lighter one.
