This isn't the actual model that I want, but essentially you place one detector in your front grill, and one behind your rear license plate...then you place the main signal reader in your center console or glovebox...the one I want is completly wireless too...only problem is that it costs $1100...

Here is a list of what it does:
:: Bel Vector 975R Features::

360° Protection against all types of Laser
X, K, Ka, and Super Wideband Ka Detection
Safety Warning System (SWS™) Alert
VG-2 Undetectable
VG-2 Alert
Instant-On (Pulse) Detection
3 Driver Selectable Features
Auto and Manual Muting
Signal Strength Indicator
Auto Memory Retention
Loss of Connection Alert
Low Voltage Warning
Highway Mode (suburban travel)
City X Mode (moderate urban travel)
City X/K/Ka Mode (extreme urban travel)
Fully Adjustable Audio Levels
Quick Volume
Bright/Dim/Dark Display Settings
Software Upgradable
Tutorial Mode
One Year Manufacturer Warranty

Not by any means whatsoever...I believe the law states that you can have one in California...but you can't have it turned on...don't quote me on that, I'll look it up...but if that is true it is the stupidest law in the world...but no matter what they are illegal here...just like everything else...

Holy Crap...I just went to the Cali DMV Website and your right...

Things that I had no idea were legal or illegal:

1. Radar jammers. Radar detectors are legal, but jammers, or any device which interferes with radar signals, are illegal (28150 VC).

2. Headlights brighter or higher wattage than those from the factory. You may be able to see better, but the lights are illegal (24011 VC).

3. Incorrect color of turn signal. It must be white or yellow to the front, red or yellow to the rear (24953 VC).

4. Illegal windshield washer nozzle lights. Only white or yellow are allowed. (25106 VC, 24003 VC).

Watch, now that I posted this, I bet you this post will be moved...

Oh really? Then I guess I'll send you my $200 fine when I get it for having blue LEDs in my turn signals (for my m3 mirrors).
