Hi, im new to this whole car thing. My boyfriend owns a civic and im interested in learning about the parts that he has in his car now and the parts that hes wanting to add to his car to be able to have a conversation with him about this. But I have no idea what anything in his car does really. I want to surprise him with my knowledge but im not even sure where to start. So can somebody please help me out? Thank you!

the easiest way is to pick up a mag like super street or sport compact car. this wont happen overnite, but if you read the articles you will start understanding alot about how car works and the components

You can always ask him about the stuff that he has done and especially the stuff he wants to do. That is what my girlfriend does, she loves cars, but really doesn't know what's what when it comes to parts and accessories. So, she asks me...guaranteed he will love telling you about it, if he is really into this **** then he will get excited by the fact that you want to become interested, the downside is that eventually he wont want to shut up about it <----my problem

But definitely ask him the things you don't know, he really will want to explain it to you, but will probably only want to explain it once and not have to have the same question asked 18 times...ask things like, how does X help you make horsepower, what are the advantages of X over Y, etc...those are the ones that get me going with my gf...
