exhaust muffler silencer adjustment, how?

ok so i got a new exhaust, and the muffler has an adjustable silencer, but i cant figure out how to adjust it, someone help! it looks lik the first muffler in the right column on this page: http://www.andysautosport.com/honda/...cmufflers.html . i took the little bolt/nut out, but it wont budge.

I always have to pull mine out w/a pair of chanel locks. just pull real hard and gigle it.

does the thing thats inside make it louder or quieter? cause if its quieter, well... its d*mn loud... wonder what itll be like w/o a silencer lol

Yea mine was stuck on HARD...i had to wiggle it out buy pulling at the top then the bottom with some pliers.

Adjustable means you can take it off and on....tunable is like that Ganador Style Straight Cut

I have that kind on my muffler...

ah, k thanks man, but yeah i tried running an open header while i was waiting for the rest of my exhaust to come, lol the car kept stalling! but it was still loud as f*ck. i like me exhaust, but hopefully it wont look bad w/o the loudner dealy in it, its a 3.5" slash cut, so its not like one of them 4 inchers.

oh, and does that thing insid ethe muffler actually do anything for performce? or does it just make the car louder?
