Front lip shipping?

Hey I'm thinking about shipping out a front lip, and i'm wondering how much this would run about. the lip is the TYPE B front. i measured it, and the dimensions came out to be about 70in x 20 x 9. i also guess that the package would be about 15 lbs with the stuffing.
The thing is, when i put it on UPSP.com and UPS.com shipping estimates, the price for shipping came out to be well over 100 dollars for shipping. (120 for usps). Does this seem right? by the way, this is when i entered in from sacramento to new hampshire.

Did anyone else ever ship their front lip? if so, how mcuh did it cost you?

BTW: mods, feel free to put this thread in the appropriate forum.

from my research with them on websites and ebay, it should be about $30 or $40. What really matters with shipping is the weight more than the size; but only to a point; im sure that it may be large enough for them to charge you up the @ss. I'd go to the FedEx store and ask them.

UPS charges more for odd shaped packages or they charge by cubic inches. Plus they have length limitations so thats probably why its so much. Hope this helps

It seems like people have experience w/ fed-ex for shipping lips/kits and such. Has anyone dealt with fed-ex for shipping lips? if so, about how much was it?

from my experience with shipping large/heavy packages, FedEx is WAY cheaper than UPS or USPS. I once shipped a one-foot cubic box of batteries that weighed 70 pounds. The UPS price was $60, FEdEx was $35...
