Just Wondering if anyone here has had there auto tranny built up.I've been looking into level 10 http://www.levelten.com/ and they seem to build some damn good tranny's!I was just thinking about doing this because I plan in the futre to build up my motor and going turbo, and I just drive my tranny real hard! I do alot of WOT in most of my gears and can manipulate my shifting pretty well to get the most out of it,so I just wanted a "bulletproof" tranny =)

My friends brother had his Monte Carlos trans built there, the build some wicked auto trans set ups, thing shifts like a manual now.

He's gonna bring his 500+ hp cutlas there when he gets his new trans to get it beefed up, he seems to highly recommend them.

thats good.Just wanted to see if anyone has dealt with them before I go and drop a couple G's on them =) .I highly doubt my civic will ever push that much power.I just want a good reliable transmission, because I tend to drive them a little hard.

Sweet. I'll do that when I get my turbo, or when I swap.

Actually, YS went to JMO and had his tranny worked on. They build higher stall torque convertors too.

Ahh these built up tranny's are getting me more excited than turbo's,since where I live I can't really utizile a crap load of power...but a built tranny would really help my car out!

Captain:
-The trans is holing up great, its only been about 700 miles (one busy week), but there is no slipping or problem (yet).
-I have a trans cooler/oil cooler but its not installed yet. I am thinking if i leave it at 5-6psi it wont be a problem. I have messed around with 9psi a bit, and there was no slip within gear, but i didnt have the cojones to hold it through shifts jic.
-i posted a review today, check it out.

There is a level 10 about 10min from me so I'm gonna have to check it out. I also have an auto ex. Does anyone know if the torque converter actually makes a big diff. I'm not sure. The only thing that worries me is that I've heard alot of people say that they aren't to good with imports. They mainly specialize in high horsepower domestics. But again I'm not sure.

imho, a tq converter makes a big diff on n/a cars, on n20 cars, and s/c cars, but not as much as on turbo cars. The slip will help all cars hit their powerband sooner, in theory helping all of the above, however, the slip that multiplies tq, momentarily reduces load on the eng., which spools turbo's. so its hard to say. I would think turbo cars would benifit from a tighter and more efficient converter, and not a looser more tq multiplying one-
thats how id want mine anyways, not helping me much at low (where most people try to get them to help) but rather helping by being stronger, and more efficient % wise...

seeing this thread is gonna cost me big time. I was planning on boosting low for a few years, then parting out and selling the vic, but now i am considering an engine build/trans build, and high boost- 350 to the wheel would be awsome, and so unasumed in my 4door auto- =)
