Racer Design CF intake.. rubber patches?!
What are the rubber patches for? I'm ready to install this intake, need those answers first. I would assume its to make a good seal between the end of the intake pipe and the CF housing.. cause its loose... would like to make sure first. I will post a complete review.

i have that intake too; i just threw them away. But now that you mention it, the CF shroud is kind of loose around the tubing...i would put them there if I were you. Another thing, if you're installing it, don't worry about that support bar that is on the tube. You know, with the screw that goes into one of the previous resonator screw slots? It isn't really metal, just plastic. Mine snapped off completely from the bar after a week of use, and is now laying on some road somewhere. Just do yourself a favor and break it off initially.
i bought it on ebay for $75. You can probably find it for a bit cheaper if you are patient though. Here it is for $40 right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2448481882
Thats pretty nice... I wonder if you can choose the color of the hoes clamps (blue in the picture) It would be nice to have red. Aslo, is there a filter anywhere in there?

they linked it farther up.....
its on ebay...
and dont keep bidding on one till it gets WAYYY up there... the sellers are always putting up some more... and they always have more than one up for auction at a time... but no "buy it nows" ..
and the sellers take forever to leave feedback and arent the friendliest.... imo

Yeah, SSautochrome sold me mine, the guy cancelled my first attempt at a bid. I have 11 good feed backs too. Do you guys find that your chrome tubing part kinda points downward (isnt 100% level)? Seems like my intake is sinking .. maybe thats the way it sits. And also.. the filter, you cant oil this huh? Wonder if you can use K&N, and when this filter does get dirty.. then what? I dont think anyone makes this exact size/shape as a replacement..

What kind of filter is it? Can you get some pics of just the filter so I will have some idea of what it looks like and how effective it might be at stopping dirt.
the filter is an angled cone filter. I want to try to find a K&N replacement for it; im sure they make that size. And yes, the tube sinks. Theres supposed to be a support that screws into one of the existing screw holes for the resonator, but its made of ***-cheap plastic and breaks off after a week, and then it sinks. Just screw the front of the cf shroud to the front radiator support (where the ground wire is connected) and you'll be fine.
