Maybe someone can tell me if this will work? Apparently Acura carries a shift boot adapter that will let you use an aftermarket ****, but also keep the stock boot up. This adapter is made for the RSX, however I think that the Civic has the same setup. I ordered the part, so I'll see by next week if it will work, and I hope it does. I'm ordering a Spoon shift ****, so I wanted it to fit correctly. If you go to

you can see what I am talking about. Does anyone see any reason why this wouldn't work? I'm anxious to see if this will work, I'll post my results and pictures.

Rep Power: 408 Looks ugly with that adaptor imo. i just used flange and ring that came with RSX optional shiftknob. I am not sure if you can get these seperately though. pics.
BTW that clip should work with 7thgen shiftboot clip. Identical as rsx ones.

Rep Power: 400 What you really gotta do is get that stupid silver ring out of there. Do this... go buy a Momo 'Performance' Shift boot (its the model that has the threaded ring on top for Momo *****). Its 50 bucks but its also textured leather and real nice looking. The ring on top, also happens to be the same internal diameter as the stock clip ring... meaning the 2 tangs on the bottom of the shift **** will clip into the ring in the boot and not come off. It just snaps on and off like the stock one does, but there's no ugly silver thing in between. Or you can be cool like me... and machine a boot holder upper thing out of titanium

Rep Power: 0 yeah my boot sags just a little.
i went ghetto style for a quick fix. wrap an entire roll of black electrical tape around the shifter, but console back over, screw **** on.
I'll wait till I put a better **** on to make it look cleaner.

Rep Power: 0 Still waiting on Acura to call me up...I'm going to call monday afternoon if they don't call. My shift **** should ship out sometime next week, so hopefully I'll have this done sometime next weekend. I just hope Acura gets the part in, and doesn't screw me over.

Rep Power: 0 Just a thought for everyone, you probobly already know this though and maybe think it is lind of tacky, but oh well. Ractive makes a carbon look shift boot that fits our cars. It takes a little finageling but I did mine in about 20 minutes. Since the opening is so large it was hard to find a boot that fit but I assure you this one will fit. The only bad part is that you have to cut the boot to slip it into the ring around the shifter console. It actually looks pretty good, then to top it off I got a carbon shift ****. Maybe this will help maybe not, either way good luck!!!!!!!

Rep Power: 0 Oh by the way I forgot to add, the ties at the top of the boot can be tied tight and then tucked into the velcro area so they will not be visible, and the boot can be tied tight onto the bottom of the shift goot. Thanks guys!!!!
