anyone used dye for their door panels?
I want to change the color of the fabric part of my door panels on my coupe. I've painted my trim pieces silver and would like to change the fabric color to silver. Is there a product out there in whicj I could dye the fabric silver? I've seen the stuff for cloth seats, would this work? Anyone done it? Got any pics or advice?
damn, that sucks about the bleeding and fading. im trying to figure out how to do a interior color change but without the bleeding and fading... anyone wanna switch their black interior with my tan, haha??? well if anyone else knows anything about this, let me know.

if the die is done correctly it will not run when it gets wet. Also you can use protectants on the die that will keep it from fading and it takes time before it fades anwway . I had my carpet in my doors done by a local shop. I recommend checking out local places to see what they use or can do for you .

word, I would get some nice fabric and just do a custom jobber of redoing the fabric instead of trying to dye it. Even with the protectants and stuff, depending on how much you car sits outside, it oculd start bleeding as soon as after one year (but you can always dye it again with no bad effects. I would be more worried about the bleeding onto your clothes/seats.

i wanna do the same thing with my beige interior.. i wanna make it black.. i dont wanna dye everything... i just wanna find someone with a black interior 7thgen coupe that wants to swap interiors with me...
If you want black interior why not just buy leather? the kits come with inserts for the doors.....
Dyeing is easy enough, though. You just let it sit in the dye for a fews mins then rinse until no more dye comes off and repeat until you get the desired color. Just make sure absolutely no dye whatsoever is coming off of it. It takes a while.
Edit: You could try local junkyards too. Prolly won't charge too much for the skins, but that all depends of who runs the place.

best idea.
i would think it would be much more difficult to dye something. may be a waste of money and you could probably destroy half of your interior in the processs. but that's just me.
You must have a beige interior. You can go to honda and but the interior panels in black. It will cost you a fortune but it's all factory.
Hope this helps. Check with your local honda parts deparment for prices.

Just redo it with new fabric, or even vinyl like I did. ALLMAN has the original DIY for how to do this, and I have one posted as well. It will look way better than dye. Here's my white vinyl.
