But I just wanted to give you a
for asking about which exhaust has the best performance. Most people are like "uh.. which one sounds the best?" and don't care about performance.

i would think most people would say that the tanabe super medallion is the best, dc tcs is so much piping the weight is to much , and the other ones has reasons as well

The tcs system weighs 50 lbs. The same as most other exhaust cat-back systems. The only thing that has a lot of piping is the end piece because of the piping looping to include the second canaster. What do you plan on doing to the car? If you want to n/a the car than any exhaust you perfer will work. If you want to turbo the car, than the straightest exhaust would be the best. Once I get my turbo, I most likely sell my tcs and get either the dc twin exhaust system for the 2002 si or the tanabe ultra racing medallion. The tcs is a great system. Its not loud like other exhausts, but will let you know its still following you when you give it gas.

I thought we just established it weighs 50lbs. Or did Captain Capslock up there cause you to have a temporary mind lapse?

The ones I know for sure off the top of my head:
TCS is right about 50 lbs on the $.
Tanabe R Spec is about 43 lbs
5 Zigen is about 38 lbs
A'PEXi N1 is about 47 lbs
I personally am happy with my 5 Zigen. It's got great tone and great low end torque. Peep the sig!

Okay here's what I have gathered about this so far. You can get a rear section (like me) but it's mostly for looks and little sound. A catback will give more performance. The ones I've heard offer the most performance are as follows:
Tanabe (loud, okay looking)
Greddy (low toned, big can)
Thermal (low rumble, normal look)
Skunk2 (best gains, but very loud)
I would have gone with a thermal catback if I didn't care about how loud it would be. It's the lowest toned and all stainless. I wouldn't get the TCS cause it gives little gain and is heavy. Skunk2 is too loud, and some of the others I just don't like the look.
The things you need to ask yourself--
Do I care if the exhaust is loud?
Do I want a nice looking exhaust?
Do I want something that provides more power than stock?
If you don't care about the noise level, but do care about looks and gains, you have narrowed it down to thermal, Greddy, and Skunk2.
If this were me, I probably would have gotten the thermal stealth catback. I didn't cause I want a quiet ride. Anyway here's a pic of my thermal rear section.

Magnaflow is not too loud and still gives okay gains. Homersimpson has one--may want to PM him. The muffler hangs low, but a shop can raise it up no problem.

Yea I do likethe magnaflow looks and i've heard good stuff about it? Would adding a new set of headers (i.e. DC SPORTS) help with those gains a bit more? I'm sure it would but any concrete evidence is always good. Also does adding new headers increase the noise at all? how much? Thanks guys. You've all been helpful.
Apexi World Series cat-back. In my opinion, best for the money. Not sure about the weight, but the gains are pretty good in mid-high, it looks like a stock exaust only it's chrome, nice tone without being too loud, and you can get it for our 7th gens at dezod.com for $399.
