What brand is eBay generic?
I've heard the generic headers are OBX. I dunno tho. People always sell generic intakes, headers, strut bars, etc. What brand are they?

generic means there's no brand.
generic header may or may not be produced by OBX.. since I believe they manufacture their own products, they may produce generic lines without the OBX name on it.. and let their distributor work with the name if they choose to.
the generic intakes and header you see on ebay is generally from taiwan or china or out of the country. some are from US manufacture though.
OBX is actually a brand.. they mostly replicate their products.. I dont know where their manufacturing plant is located.. but I dont think they're from the US.. they have US distributors but yeah.. cuz of the wacky english translation on their packagings.

if u look up the definition for generic, one of the definition is: "hot having a brand name"
yes someone does make it, the manufacturing company probably does have a name.. but they dont label their product with any name, so it can be sold for cheaper price, and so other companies/distributors can use their product and put their own label on it if they choose to.
get it?
there's generic everything.. generic prescription drugs, generic cookies, chips, etc. etc.
making a "brand" isn't cheap.. or rather, making a successful brand that you can market...

Yes sir, thanks for the info
I figured it was some no name company, I just wondered if they had a name (that was supposed to make sense

) my ebay intake had a plaque on it that said "ss auto chrome". On the pic in the auction, it said something different. I think that it is made by somebody, but the person selling it on ebay can put whatever name they want to on it.
stuff like halo projectors and the Donut euro taillights for 7th gens are generic too. they are common on eBay and it's the cheapest place to get them new or used.
They are made by "Sonar" (embossed on the clear plastic next to DOT SAE). But since Sonar is an unheard of company, and their products come in plain brown cardboard boxes, they are generic.
you also here of that cheap quality line that is always associated with generic stuff. Well, if you take the headlamps apart, of course there will be a chance it will fog

i think that generic stuff is actually a better idea than name brand. With generic, you know that all you're paying for is the product, and you're not wasting any of your money on the name. Of course, there might be quality associated with the name, but my ebay intake still works extremely well, and seems to be pretty good quality.
Hmm...dunno if this will help but oh well.
Back in high school, we learned in economics that a product is a product. No matter what the name is, they will all work the same. Also some big companies lets say AEM or Injen, might also make intakes that dont have names (generic) but are made by the same company. Kinda like laundry detergent. Forgot which brand makes more than one detergent with different names that some never heard of. Hope that helped
