TYC Projectors....daytime running lights

Does anyone know how I can cut my daytime running lights on my 2001 Civic. I had bought TYC projectors in July, and until two weeks ago, the headlight bulbs burned out. So, I bought new bulbs, but I don't want this to happen again. I just want to know how I can cut the daytime running lights, so it doesn't wore out the new bulbs I got.
Thanks,

NO NO NO you fellas are missunderstanding him.
On an OEM headlamp, there are 3 bulbs. The h4 is for both hi and low beam, the 7443 bulb is for turn signal, and the last bulb is the 168 bulb.
the 168 bulb is the "running light" and is useless. When you twist the lever to turn the headlights on Low beams, that is two clicks. If you twist it only one click, the headlight bulbs won't be on, but the 7443 is on and will also blink when you are using the turn signal/hazard. The 168 bulbs turn on when the hheadlights are on, thus serving no purpose
For TYC projectors, the 168 bulb is on top of the 7443 bulb (7443 is behind that amber piece for turn signal)

that is the "running light"

Suri, I think you have to pull it out. Have you ever seen christmas tree lights, the long rope with small pointy colored bulbs (Not the huge bulbs you screw in)? You pull them out just like those bulbs when you have to replace them.
I don't think that the 163 bulbs affect the main headlight bulbs anyway. Just leave the socket for the running light empty and put some electrical tape over it. All the other bulbs will light up fine, with or without the running-lights. It might just be defective h1 bulbs that you bought. Try to get 55w, because that's the average range for 7th gen headlights.

Sovereign, the TYC projectors orginally came with H1 bulbs which were 55w, so I replaced them with another pair of H1 bulbs. Other then that, the running light is the projector light itself, not the 168 bulb. Which ones are the 163 bulbs? And, where can I find the 163 bulb?

you can buy them at your dealership. They might be at an auto store too, so check there too.
like I said the 168 is useless. the 7443 bulb is the turnsignal, but it's also the only bulb on when you twist the light-lever to one click.
there we go

Dizzle was right, the Civic i got is a Canadian model. I bought the car used here in NY, but somehow the car is from Canada. Only Canadian models have daytime running lights. Skipbarber was right bout the fuses also. Their are two fuses in the interior fusebox which can cut off the daytime running lights. Thanks everyone
