which header and cat-back
which header and cat-back
I am wanting to add a header and cat-back exhaust to my 2002 EX Coupe. I was thinking of a DC Sports header and either a DC Sports twin canister cat-back or a tanabe. I already have a AEM CAI so was wanting to work on the exhaust now. Tell me what you guys think, or if there is a better header cat-back combination.
Thanks,
Kevin

Yeah, I recommend HP Racing or Kamikaze over the DC Header. BTW: You might wanna search first cuz' this has been covered like 1,097,987,467,875 times.
Also, you'll find that everyone has their own opinion on what's best, so better to just research and find whatever is best for your needs.

if you really want to do a header and exhaust, go with the DC combo. Why would you though? DC sports has dynoed a 7th gen civic with it's intake, header, and exhaust and only came up with 3 HP. It's just a waste of money...but that's just my opinion.

Ok... let's stick to answering the guys question rather then telling him to do an engine swap or turbo.
buzzshipman : If you're doing the Header/Exhaust route... I say stay away from the DC header and go with the HP or the Kamikaze header like HYPR DRV said. From there you can either get the DC TCS or the Tanabe exhaust.... both are good systems.

Thanks for your help guys. I know everyone has there own ideas and opions, but it is nice that people at least try to help. I will do some research and take what you guys said and go from there. Thanks again.

what about me keeping my DC sports shortie... matching up an upgraded downpipe to it... and also i'm running a test pipe instead of cat.... oh yea and that connects to my Greddy... lemme know
I just ordered an RS-R ExMag exhaust (which is supposed to be the best, not loud at all) and a Random Technology High-Flow Catalytic Converter for my Civic. I'm in the process of looking at headers right now, but I'm going for legal headers so I need to see what's available. If I get a short header I'd get a custom downpipe. BTW an aftermarket cat can be legal...here are the restrictions:
Vehicle has over 50,000 miles and/or you've failed an emissions test and/or have a damaged Cat. I have over 50,000 and the repair shop is going to "accidentally" damage my cat when installing the exhaust and header. Magically enough, I will happen to have an extra catalytic convertor on hand

I remember reading an article earlier this year in Sport Compact Car. They tested like 10 different headers for the Integra. Surprisingly several of them actually LOST power over the stock one. The best one in the test only offered like a 2 or 3 hp gain. Not worth the time and money if you ask me.
