I didn't know that Comptech was producing a header for our cars...I was told that they wouldn't produce anything for our engine for that matter. Hmmmmm??

^^^I heard the same thing. I was waiting to see if Comptech was going to release an exhaust system for the ex's so I called them. They said they had nothing in mind. As far as the header I asked them as well and they said that the since the ex header includes the cat they will not be producing anything that will not make it street legal.

It would be kew if Comptech did, however - a header w/downpipe from them is like $900. If it's reasonably priced, or the gains prove to be significantly higher than HPs/Kamikaze's/TopSpeed's then there could be some competition.

i found a great header that doesn't cost 500-900. (downpipe also)
it's a canadan company, and the header is made by TECH RACING.
the header is like $360, downpipe is $160. it is made for the canadan SI, which as you know, is the american EX. but with a little modification, it will fit any civic.
i can give you the number (phone) and the part numbers if you are interested.
also it is sold in canadan money, which means if you watch the international money exchange, you can wait untill the value of the canadan dollar drops, and buy for even cheaper!!

What kind of modifications? That's hella expensive, even for CDM #s.

I was looking into getting HP or Reactive header/downpipe. Apparently in stock 7th gen civics, the converter is part of the exhaust header, and to keep any mod legal, you'll need to get an after market cat convtr too.

Total cost Canadian, including instalation and taxes = apx $750.

The gains from a header is great, but the price.........

what does "CDM #s " mean?

if you don't have an ex, you need to buy a sway bar that's small enough so that the collector clears. (LX only. DX has no sway bars) or you can buy a sway bar for an EX, or you can just junk the swaybar, or you can have your exhaust mechanic heat-n-bend your collector (down pipe) so that it clears the sway bar.
i think this is the best for this application. it won't cost a lot to have this done. (heat-n-bend)

CDM = Canadain Domestic Market

Oh... so technically it's just an EX header.

Legal headers. Oh, but you're in Canada...

Comptech is showing NO 7thgen love.....no headers, exhaust....they sadi not enough demand and they couldn't produce enough gains with the prototypes

man.,,, all that money... just put it towards turbo.. if you dont want turbo.. buy hp or kamikaze depending on your model... cant beat em for the price.. shoot.. for $900 you could buy the $300 HP or kamikaze (*can be had for LOTS less than that)... get an intake for like $150, and get a nice NX kit....

Any one know an online store where they carry the 4-1 HP Header w/ high flow cat and O2 Sim? Other store than NOPI. I heard that the original 4-1 HP Header was out of production since mid 2002. TRUE????

There is something you should know about HP's header.

First of all, HP did not construct that header. All HP did was put a logo on it. My friend researched this a while back when the header was new. The original no-named company began releasing it simply as a "4 in 1 header w/high flow cat" and this is very true because there are a lot of people here who got that header without the HP badge on it. HP just distributed it under their name and put a badge on it (anyone can put a badge on it) believe it or not. So yes, technically HP did stop, but after the no-named one was released I stopped paying attention to HP so I dunno if the 4-in-1 header people are getting from Nopi or other sites has an HP badge on it or not. I believe the one from Nopi had no badge.

your friend is either lying to you.. or they dont know what they're talking about. (or worse, got the year of Civic wrong.. or the model wrong.. cuz they do have one for the 03 Si)

or they dont have as high of a position as you thought. this is just an aftermarket manufacture in the states, they couldn't possibly have THAT many employees.

or, they aren't sold to the public. cuz the cost and demand doesn't justify a production line.

one thing is for sure, its not listed on their website.

a comptech part that DOES fit us is their adjustable (or non adjustable) swaybar/tiebar combo.

I looked at the DIY section and saw a DIY on the HP header and a Greddy Evo. Since I got the evo still need the header.

Still back to the same question that I started with??? Where can I get it along with an O2 sim? Don't care if it has an HP badge or not, I just want noticible gains.

i dont see how my post was a flame.

if you read it, I just list bunch of reasons why we havent heard of this header.. and why your friend said there's one etc.

its not like i'm trying to put words into your mouth, but it's happened before, you call a company, one person say one thing.. the other person say another thing. its not rare for a company to not have information properly distributed.

anyway dont get offended, I'm not really saying you're lying, or your friend is lying. just listed possibilities, but I guess there's no point for me to do that.

but yeah i didn't spot that part about the ex. well I did, but I forgot about it after a couple post down. lol.

An 02 Simulator emulates data to your ecu. By replacing your stock cat with high flow one, it will cause you Check Engine Light (CEL) to come on. By having an 02 Sim, fake data is sent to your ecu. So you ecu thiks everything is ok.
