no if ur not gonna turbo, get 2.25 because it supplies the correct amount of back pressure needed but if you want turbo, go big because back pressure holds down a turbo, but how can i talk on this subject, i'm not gonna turbo and i'm ordering a skunk2... hahaha
well the HKS muffler and the 2.25'' piping is gonna make a difference. If my cousin can put on a damn Tenzo muffler and i can feel the pull imagine what this will do? And I've heard that our exhaust systems are restricted like crazy.

$80 dollars for piping versus $120!!! Is $80 bucks to good to be true? Or am I safer at a higher price? Somebody please answer with some knowledge on prices!
I've read all of the posts here and am curious about what exhaust would be the best for an LX. I am going NA for now since I can't afford a turbo and when I will be able to I will be able to afford another exhaust system for it. I've also already done a search on Ractive (or from what I read Craptive) and I could get a ractive setup for $80 with custom piping. If I went with 2" piping I would have enough backpressure for torque and enough flow for the high-end power. Which exhaust system should I go with? I'm hearing good things about the name brands of course but am limited on funds. I would rather save up and get something good rather than be unsatisfied with a "ricier" exhaust. Which would y'all recomend?
Talked to a guy last night who has a 2002 Si, he has an Apexi Dunk Muffler and 3'' piping. He suggested that 3'' would be best for my car because the 2.25'' rule only ment for previous gen civics, and that ours are different, he said all and all it cost him $300 bucks. What do you think?
3" is way too big unless youre going with a turbo. plus, good luck fitting that piping under the car, you'll drag all over the place, if youre not going turbo i wouldnt go over 2.25, if you are going turbo, id suggest 2.5
just get a catback is my suggestion...but if you want custom, im guessin around 100 for the piping
No manufactures have under 3'' piping. And they don't have that Huge 120mm tip that HKS has on their Stainless Steel Muffler

3" is insane on our car. My project 95 Eclipse GSX only runs 2.5". Thats turbo. BTW, backpressure isn't needed with Turbo. The turbo supplies the additonal pressure on its own. For N/A, the BEST exhaust I have owned, is by far the 5 Zigen Fireball cat-back on our car. The piping is 2", which is .25" bigger than stock & it has a bazooka style canister. I came from Tanabe to 5 Zigen and the torque difference is huge! Tanabe sucks for low end Torque. The 5 Zigen boosted low end big time. Not to mention, it is just as quiet as stock until you get on it hard. I LOVE IT!
well, IMO you should get a Thermal R&D Stealth system, it is the best for me.
But what my Sohc Vtec needs is low end torque. To be honest, my engine really doesn't get rockin' till 4,000rpm, around when I can hear my Vtec kick in. What will 2.25'' piping do for my acceleration? Will it take away low end for high end torque? Will it take away anything at all? Will I get any low end out of this???
it basically all depends on what your future plans are, personally i'm going to be puttin a turbo on later, so my Tanabe R-Spec is fine for now. The low end is a little sluggish, but who drives their car between 2.5k and 3k anyays?

I just recently installed dc sports tcs on my car (no header or cai) and I believe I lost low-end power, but as I been reading and from experience, I feel more high-end power.
and the piping is 2.25"
and the piping is 2.25"
