removing scratch from rim

yesterday my dad was moving the car and he hit the curb with the rim and since i have 205/40s all the contact was made witht he rim of course. the scratch is about an inch big and looks liek teeth marks. it really pisses me off cuz its not bad enough to replace the rim but its just there. is there a good and effective way to get scratches out of a rim?

I did the same thing returning a movie the other day. I started crying, but it really isn't all that bad. I'd love to know how to fix it though.

the thign that i'm furious about is that my dad has a problem with people parking on the street next to our drive way, he thinks its "his" parking spot on a public street so when he leaves he always tells me to put my car there. me and him fight all the time about this **** happening, i told him that i guarantee 100% that one time me or him will scrtach the rim and he laughed at me and said that i[m just lazy. yesterday he scratched the F'n rim, after i warned him to stop with the bullshit of moving cars like its his personal parking spot when its not, he was ignorent and what i said became true. i havnt been this pissed in a while, everything is perfect on the irms besides that little **** scratch thats gonna **** me off each tim ei see it

im pretty sure there are mobile rim repair services in most areas. I know there is a guy in my area that does it. Look up on switchboard in your state for wheel repair, see if you can find anyone, or ask a local body shop what you should do, maybe they could even fix it by adding superficial metal to the scratched area by welding/brazing and grind it back to normal. I couldn't see it being much money, there's no real prep time like with a car, it'd be mostly the actual work that you'd pay for.

Good one! Lets just say we have differences (such as this poor boy does with his)....

But I mean comon, the guy messes up his rim, and doesn't even offer to have it fixed? What kind of a father is he?

Depending on what sort of metal the rim is (is it polished, or what?) you might be able polish or buff it out. If it is not that type of metal - than you might just be screwed. I'm sure there is a way to fix pretty much anything, but it comes down to the cost of it as well. You might be able to buy a new rim for cheaper than it would cost to fix in the first place. Talk to the manufacturer of the rim and see what they say?

You can get it professionally refinished by a wheel shop. Not sure how much it costs.
