What is that muffler lookin thing behind the muffler. It kinda looks like a cat convertor but it ain't cuz mine is an LX and i looked in the manual and that cat convertor is in like right on the exhaust manifold...so does anybody know what the heck that thing is? Its about a foot long and is a little smaller than the width of a coffee can...really curious bout this.thanx!

I beleive your referring to the resonator. Its a pre-muffler if you will.

does it have anything to do with backpressure...cuz i bought a matrix muffler today and i can bearly hear it...so if i take that "resonator" off will it be louder...i know that just having a loud muffler is gay but i'm sorry i ain't rich and don't have the money for a cat back...so if i took that "premuffler" off would it make my pipe louder?

hahah dude i bought a HKS rear section and when i had on i couldnt even hear it...so i just got custom piping done 2 1/4 and a 2 1/4 resonator...thanx to people from 7thgencivic....

Yeah I got my matrix put on and the resonator removed and sounds awesome...really deep clear tone...sounds really good! thanx everyone
