Skunk2... even thought there is not much that can be done for our stock motors I was very surprised at the performance the Skunk2 gave me. Sound is also amazing. The Tanabe is louder but the performance isnt there.

My friend has the Tanabe and he's trying to sell it because of the noise. I also know that he wasn't impressed with the Hp and torque like he thought he would. I say go with the skunk 2. It sounds really good and you wouldn't know the power difference if you got the Tanabe. Hell, I got the DC TCS and I still beat him with the same mods and we'll switch cars and he beats me with my car so it's not the driver. If you don't mind a loud exhaust and the money isn't an issue, either one would be a good choice. It's all in your personal taste

I have a question. Assuming the Skunk2 is sold as a cat-back, how much does it run for? CAN funds would be cool but US funds will do!
Thanx alot!
Edit:
Also, I remember before when everyone was starting to swear by the Tanabe R-Spec, there was a site that included audio clips of the exhaust. I guess I should've thrown a search out, but are there any clips for the Skunk2 cat-back? Thanks in advance!

I got the Skunk2 on my car, not as loud as the Tanabe but the tone of it was amazing. Instantly I noticed a rather large increase in performance which was quite surprising for our cars. I felt more torque and not only was there more power when i downshifted but there was a slight but noticiable amount at lower rpms "less bogging". I at one point found dynos on both, I know Skunk2 has one on thier site - i forget where I saw the Tanabe i know it was a rather big differance from what I remember.

What about exhausts that arren't really loud at all? The only reason I am driven towards an aftermarket exhaust is because of the slight gain. And obtix was saying the Skunk2 wasn't as loud as the Tanabe R-Spec.

I can get some pictures uploaded tomorrow (when I get to my parents garage where my car is currently, I don't like keeping it outside at my apt ab hour away) The sound clips will be harder to get but I will try

tanabe really isnt that loud on our cars truthfully, my friends cant stand it sitting in the back of my car, but its not like itll give you a headache if you make a longer trip, its loud, but not that loud
i have the tanabe, and one thing i dont like about it is the way it hangs, that skunk 2 hangs much nicer i must say, the tanabe is awful if your car is lowered, but im not gonna complain, i love my exhaust

Same here i love the Tanabe, the power, the sound but it hangs low and if your lowered you gotta be CAREFUL. But i wouldnt trade it for any other. I have seen the Ultra Medalion and i cant say i want it.

until i see actual dyno #'s from both exhausts, i'm calling BS on the skunk 2 putting out more HP than the tanabe. look at the bends in the skunk 2, they are more arch'd than the tanabe so wouldnt that restrict airflow? i think that most people that replied are skunk 2 fans...i want proof.
