Air filters?

Does anyone know what type of air filter (that would fit in my stock air box: therefore not CAI or short ram) would remove the most dirt? I read that foam air filters are really good but I couldn't find any for the 2k1 civic.

I thought that K&N allowed for alot of flow (for more hp) but also trapped little dirt.

What do you mean by "remove the most dirt"? I don't think there's any air filter that removes it, but all air filters hold back the dirt from entering your engine. The K&N air filter works the best in that it allows more airflow into your engine, working just as effectively even if it's dirty.

ok, all air filters hold back dirt (think we just differ in terminology), some can hold back a higher % than others (kind of like pass efficiency in oil filters). I used the stock filter in (what I thought was) non extreme driving for 20000 mi and had excess dirt enter my throttle body (i think), and had to take it to the dealership to get the problem fixed. The stock filter is supposed to last 30K miles under normal conditions. Knowing that my driving conditions are probably not normal, I want a filter that: A) holds back a higher % of dirt and B) can hold more total dirt before having to be changed. Look at this site to see what I mean http://www.amsoil.com/products/ts.html Unfortunately, they don't make air filters for our car.

wait, so if you buy an cold air intake then it comes with its own filter, so you dont need to buy one in addition?
