.................Illegal?

Is it illegal to have blue bulbs as your turn signals on the headlights?

Also, I got these tail lights on my car, there is a silver border, so it makes them look kind of tacky on the black car, any suggestions to make that silver border black?

Peace!

depends on where you live, but the general rule of thumb is yes. Blue turn signals will get you pulled over.

as for your tails, unseal em...take that glue **** off carefully....reseal tails with a black silicone.

Angry Yeah...

Yeah it's illegal. I would at least change to superwhites or just clear lights if you don't want the amber. Less noticable less you have really bright super white bulbs in there.

again...it depends on where you live.

in virginia, you must have amber or red turn signals. white, blue, green, pink, what have you....they'll all get you ticketed.

You can get away with more things in Houston than you can in most places. More than half the car and trucks on the road are illegal in some way noticeable.

So you should really say, everything is practically legal in Houston.

Being that my father is a cop, I asked him and his partner what lights were not legal (in terms of import extras) ... Neons = VERY ILLEGAL (annoying to cops), Strobes = VERY VERY ILLEGAL (makes you look like an emergency vehicle), LED Washers = illegal, but only pulled over if the cop is bored or wants to do a DUI check...RARELY a ticked offense but they will make you either turn them off or disconnect them on the spot, Blue turnsignals front = illegal but rarely ticketed (more of a reason to pull you over late at night for a DUI check), any color turn signals in back = VERY ILLEGAL (in colorado they will ticket you on the spot, no questions asked), blue parking lights = legal...no big deal. So none of the fun things I have done to my car are legal...good thing he's a cop!

I am friends with a few of the cops on the force here and they say differently. The parking light, they could give a rats *** what color it is. LED washer lights, not illegal at all unless they are blue. The turn signal must be white or amber. Once again, just depends on your state and local laws.

As a general rule of thumb, any forward facing red or blue lights are illegal, as well as any white lights that flash in an alternating pattern. In Texas if you can a red or blue bulb it makes it illegal unless you are licensed to use emergency colors.. However anyone can have flashing amber lights front or rear...It really is a big deal for non licensed people to be using colored bulbs, It creates a lot of problems with public trust in non-marked police or emergency vehicles.

do you mean that your headlights emit the color blue, or your bulbs are blue but emit white light?
