Exhaust System....
I had a questions for all the mod heades here. I have heard of an exhaust system by OBX, and I wanted to know if any of you had any comments about it. Please let me know what the good and bad things about them are.
my friend has the OBX Type H. Basically an affordable Greddy EVO. It sound tight. Low rumble and nice when you lay into it.....good choice in my book....Although I haven't seen it on ebay in awhile....
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

You get what you pay for. All of these people think they save money buy getting something cheap and then they come whine about their problems with it on the site.
Spend your money on something worth getting like Apexi, Tanabe, Greddy, HKS.

You're not going to "see" the differences between cheap and the names. You'll notice it though. Its the differences between the way its designed, the quality and fit of the assembly, the materials used, for exhausts, the time spent tuning the system, selecting materials and laying out the baffles or glass lining to give it that certain sound and add power. Thats really the difference between knockoff and the original. Some things, it makes more of a difference than others. Exhaust is one of those things where I think it makes a difference.

obx, tom motorsports, matrix, matrix racing, rapid racing, etc. they are all the same products, shipped over from thailand or taiwan, then labeled.
i stick to generic brands. I would rather by it cheap let it break and then buy a newly released product. There isnt a lot out for the 7th gens yet so you might as well wait until there are more options. Thats my plan. Especially with forced induction, everyone says there will never be a superchager for the 7th gen. It takes time, and im willing to work on the rest of the car and wait to see what what happens.
"Its better to be ripped off in price than in quality" IMO
But OBX is a decent company, better than all the what you call generic companies, i dont know how, ive just heard good things about them

Thanks for all the replies on this thread. A couple other questions of mine is what do you think about the Magnaflow catback system, and the Apex'i System. Give replies to both plz. Also is 3 in. piping good for the 2003 civic si, or should I stick to 2 1/4.
ive got a magnaflow. good sound. when i get a downpipe and remove my resonator itll be a lot louder. as far as the feel, im not sure. ive had it for about 6 months so i forgot what it felt like before and after. but im sure it helped none the less.
oh btw, when naming all those generic companies you forgot the most infamous of all...i dont even have to say it. if you dont know who it is then go research yourself on how much we all hate APC...errrr...oops.

Injen has a new stainless steel exhaust. It's supposed to be good.
I want someone to get it so we can see if it's good or not

To the person above me. You should really think about changing your avatar.
Is there really a huge difference between the $500 GReddy Evo and the $200 custom piping with axle back cheap system? I can see spending the 500 if you've got turbo...but if you've got turbo you can afford $500...for those of us who just want a faster point A to point B car...$200 with good sound is ok with me, IMO.

Hey guys thanks for all the replies on this subject. Well I just ordered my exhaust system or actually won my exhaust system. It is A Magnaflow system, 2 1/4 piping. Very excited. Hopefully it'll help, I already have the AEM CAI and a DC Sport Header, I just needed the system to complete my i/h/e setup. Future mods are coming as soon as they are released.
