just make sure you have a 2001 LX not a 2002, and make sure that you get a 2001 B16 not a 2000. if you want your car to be legal, you cant put an old engine into a newer car.

Anything can be done with money, but it's not worth the money to put a B series in our engine bay. Stick with the K-series. Btw, search because this subject has been beaten to death.

B16s werent made in 2001 i think. only the B18.
k-series motors are DOHC and have i-vtec. you'll want to swap in a k-series motor.
side note: not knowing what you want, but wanting an engine JUST because its dohc and has vtec is a weak reason to want that engine. You should really read up on the engine and find out if it has what you want, like the right compression, torquw, horsepower, if it spins the right way, etc. IMHO, if your going to build up your car, learn about your car first, then start modding. That way when your asked a question, you wont look like a complete idiot.
like Kairi said, this has been beaten to death. you'll just need to search a bit on this forum. the search button is at the top of this page and flashes red.
And stop acting like a 6 yr old Cree01. Kairi was helping you out nicely. He, like me (most of the time) and other members, could have flamed ur ***.

The B16A2 can be found in the 99-00 SI. They only made B18s for 2001. You will have to get a B18 to swap not a B16 or it will be illegal. Because you are not allowed by law to swap a motor in to a car that it newer that the motor.
2001 civic---2000 B16=No No
2001 civic---2001 B18=Ok to do
See what I'm talking about? Plus, I've only heard of a few people swapping the old B-series motors, so everything need will have to be custom. Which is going to cost a big amount. So it might not be worth it. But, like Cambo said. Learn about you car first. The D17 is starting to show a chance of being a good strong motor to build. Its been proven that FI is a good route. And a few people like Chrissy have tried some internal work for N/A and brought up some intresting ideas. Just do a search man. Type in motor swap and you will find everything you need to know. Plus spend sometime looking through the forums and learn about what you have right now. If you have anyother questions that you can't find the answers to fell free to PM me. I'm online all the time and would be happy to help answer your questions.

Can a motor swap, especially K20, even be done for under $5k? Cause that sounds ridiculously low ball considering the RSX engines/tranny, etc are goin for almost that much. Why not just do a turbo kit instead, it would be a lot cheaper.

All I wanted was a little info on the engine I asked about. I didn't ask for everyones opinion on the everything else. I don't know everything about cars and don't really care. I drive what I got and I want more power and more power means a new engine. I'm not going to buy one now I still got a bunch of other stuff first but when I got the money I will RESERCH a new engine and put it in and if you don't like it read my previous messege!

"Yes, it's a decent engine and it came from a 99-00 Civic Si." (Since you just wanted "a little info")
They could've just answered "Yes" or "No" to your question. But no, they've gone thru the trouble of helping you out and gave you more information (like it's illegal to swap a 99-00 engine into your 01) and you don't appreciate it.

Wow. What the hell were you thinking when you made this post? You went again the first post you made like a fat *****.
I gave you some info. And them some.
Then why the hell ask for info on a motor swap if you don't care about cars smartass.
Ok, than why did you ask about it now? If you don't want to know about the motor swap until you get the money for it, than why ask about it.
You asked about info on it. We gave it to you. We told you the pro and cons. And you acted like a 13 year old brat with your head up you ***. You should think before you post you ungrateful peice of sh*t.
