Just wondering if anyone has ever tried the $50 mufflers you see on EBay at all? They're all about the same price, basic descriptions, etc... but just wondered if worth a darn.
Listed ones I see are:
Megan N1
APEXi N1
G2
Fireball
Skunk2
Bomb
I have currently a 2003 Civic LX Sedan, not planning on making a major street racer outta it, but would like about 20HP more than I have... I'll be getting better pipes (2.25"-2.5") someday, CAI, a few items like that but not wanting to spend a "lot", but at the same time not have rusty loud junk hanging off my car...
Any advice?

Oh, another thing... I should be able to just unbolt my current muffler and with a $5 exhaust adapter from the car shop, be able to bolt these on right? Or would I have to make some adjustments so that it doesn't hit up againt the lower lip of the bumper or something.

you get what you pay for. Dont pay for something cheap and expect it to function properly. If i were you i would go with the Skunk2 or the Apexi that you have in your list

I'll have to re-read those EBay items and see if they do say APEXi or Skunk2, or if they say "just like" anywhere... I never looked for mufflers before so have no idea which are good or bad, or what makes are even out there.

I usually agree with "you get what you pay for" statement but in our hondas that a little different in my opinion. You get soooo much less than what you pay for.

I did find a real Skunk2 on there, even showed the box and all, but for a 92-95 Civic/94-01 Integra ... would it fit a 2003 Civic? I know sometimes for universal parts they just pick a car so people will have more to search on in the title.

There it is, just type "Skunk2 Integra Civic" and it'll come up... read it last night and they ship to the US only so being from Canada I am one again screwed.
So... what exactly makes an exhaust "good" vs "bad"... is it based on sound, flow, what it's made of? Most of these knock offs are stainless steel, not sure what grade though... they have a large enough exit point for the exhaust... sound well, that's different for everyone.

True... then again, you can buy 4 mufflers for the price of 1 good one, and over time 4 will probably outlast the 1...
Too bad they didn't have some sorta standardized sound rating or something, like noise decible ratings.
