My voice command system isn't responding to my commands at all. It's as if the mic wasn't picking up. Anyone know where the mic plugs are or places I can check? Is there a module that controls the voice commands? If so where is it?

Car is a 2009 Civic Si with navi.

The mic is in the center of the front dome light set. 3 wire connector, green.

Too late, car has a rebuilt title due to an insurance job

But how do you get to the 3 wire connector? do i have to tear apart the area where the front dome light set is?

Pop the lenses out, there is a screw behind each side. If there is a sunglasses holder, there are 2 screws behind it too, look with a flashlight after you open it.

Is there is a module in console or somewhere that controls that? Or if anyone knows where mics wires go to?

FIRST STEP must be checking for body system codes with the HDS scantool. Before taking crap apart and causing even more false codes.

Continuity testing from the back of the audio unit to the mic itself might be next, depending on what info can be garnered from the proper scantool.


Wiring runs thru a large connector under the center console, and another large one below the dash fusebox. If nobody has done any work in the areas, then the scanner is the first tool to use.

Update: bought a new microphone thinking that would be the problem and nada, even with new mic it wont pick up anything i say! Wtf
