Hey, I want to add a subwoofer to my civic lx since I didnt spring for the ex version and im just wandering if anyone knows a good way of doing this. Can the dealer install one? I'd prefer to have the one that's built into the ex version so I can be more secure about it working, so if any knows what type/brand that is that be great. Price range is really no objective for me. Thanks in advance

well as a general rule, aftermarket is much better than factory when it comes to audio equipment. in any case, the EX sub will not work with the car you have now. just go aftermarket. get a box and sub (10 inch is good for most music types), and an amp to power it. then wire it all together. most likely you need a new cd player too that connects to the amp otherwise its a pain to hook up to stock deck.

if you don't want to change the deck, buy an amp with hi-level inputs. then you can tap the speaker signal from the rear speakers to drive the amp. you'll still have to run a power cable kit from the battery.
