Multiple Warnings
Multiple Warnings
2014 Civic EX Coupe:
I'm receiving multiple warnings from the Information display system. This happened a couple of months ago and I contacted my local dealer asking what could be the issue. The tech was helpful telling me it could be a bad sensor or as simple as a loose battery cable. I noticed the positive connection was gathering corrosion and cleaned it a bit, but didn't remove the actual cable from battery. I haven;'t received the the warnings again until now and this time, I removed the cable and cleaned thoroughly and sprayed with a dielectric lubricant. Unfortunately, the warnings aren't going away. Therefore, I'm guessing a bad sensor, per the past advice of the tech, but before I take it in to confirm, I'm hoping someone can point me to the location of the sensor and if I can replace myself or any other suggestions.
Thank you

Re: Multiple Warnings
One single check engine light problem can and will trigger related fault codes in many other systems, thus the dash lights up like a Christmas tree.
You have to begin with getting the fault codes read. Hopefully this all stems from a check engine light issue, not another system that needs the dealers scanner (although it's entirely possible)
After you have that info and learn about it, then you can decide on the next steps.

I just learned it doesn't have an actual "check engine" light. Thus, I assume the Information system is the check engine light. Correct?

Re: Multiple Warnings
I received a normal warning about maintenance due soon B1, which is my oil at 15%
I didn't see an actual check engine light
but I can attach my reader and see if one pops up. Will it read codes if there isn't a check engine light illuminated?
Do it and see what you get from it.
And yes there can be codes stored in the engine computer without the check engine light on.
Re: Multiple Warnings
You have a good recliner. You're correct, the warnings are all you mentioned....ABS, Power Steering system, tire, VSA and a couple more.
I'll connect the code reader in the morning.
Thank you so far for your help.

Re: Multiple Warnings
I entered my car this morning, pulled out of driveway and before I reached the end of my street the entire display cleared. Not a single warning. It makes me wonder if it could have possibly been that battery cable.
Will see if it happens again sometime.
