Re: Switched hot wire

What amount of current flow are you looking for? What device are you looking to power? And finally you are in the wrong forum.... a 2013 civic is 9th gen not 10th, but you should be able to get an answer pretty easily.

You could have just sent a message/report and the mod team would have move it for you. To correctly wire an autodim mirror you would also need an input from the reverse light circuit. The auto dim mirrors are designed to turn themselves off in reverse.

But lucky for you that honda designed these cars to be able to use powered rear view mirror. Wiring an auto-dim/homelink would be little different from adding the factory compass mirror. I strongly suggest a legitimate "gentex" unit for the mirror. They are OE quality and used by many of the car makers as original equipment, plus they own the "homelink" brand.

I was going to write good instructions on which wire to use, but I got a last minute project at work and don't have the time to finish this post. If you go to your local dealer they should be able to give you installation instructions on the compass mirror. There is also a honda website that provides those same instructions for owners. I think it is something like honda owner link, but I can't remember and have to start my weekend.

Ezone will likely pop in and fill in the blanks I have left.
