Hello,

I bought a 2007 Honda Civic LX recently (in Florida of US). I found that Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are always ON if the engine is turned on. The following statement is written in the user manual.

Daytime Running Lights - With the headlight switch off, the high beam come on with reduced brightness when the ignition switch is turned ON and the parking brake is released.

From this statement, the DRL should be ON only in the reduced brightness. However the DRL in my car is ON when I turn on the engine in the strong brightness. Is this a problem, or should DRL in 2007 Honda Civic LX work in this way?

it should be your high beams and they should be dim, not full bright. if they are, take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it. but yes, DRL's should be on anytime the car is on and the regular headlights are off.
