Question Steering wheel lock

i have a 2015 Honda Civic. This has Start/Stop Engine button. After i turn off the engine the steering wheel is locked. When the engine is turned on, the steering wheel is free to move.Is this the normal behavior. Or is the steering wheel supposed to move freely even when the engine is turned off..?

Re: Steering wheel lock

i have a 2015 Honda Civic. This has Start/Stop Engine button.
Does it have manual trans?

After i turn off the engine the steering wheel is locked.
Some have it, some do not.
I think all of the manual trans cars have the locking column, by law.

If yours does it, that is the way it's supposed to be.
This is probably explained in your owners manual.

Re: Steering wheel lock

Oh ok. It is not manual transmission. It is automatic.
