Clicking once per wheel roation.

There is a noise coming from the front passenger wheel of my 2010 Civic. It happens once per rotation when driving and can be duplicated by rotating back and forth when jacked up:

What could cause this?

Re: Clicking once per wheel roation.

It sounds light and tiny not lick it is coming from the transmission or cv joint, almost like a heat shield or the brake rotor shield.

Re: Clicking once per wheel roation.

Pitch or tone sounds like it might be that of the backing plate....

bent, too close to rotor?
Rock stuck?

Re: Clicking once per wheel roation.

I could be wrong but, it seems that he (OP) is not using much effort to move the rotor back and forth. Seems like there should be more resistance...isn't the driver's side front the axle that is powered?

That's exactly what it was. Good ear! And thank you! I fixed it last night. Saved me a foolish trip to the mechanic.

Re: Clicking once per wheel roation.

By "that" I meant the bent plate, not a rock.

A differential doesn't work quite that way.
