High Pitch Whine

My '06 manual coupe with 255k miles has developed a high pitched whine. Whine can be heard at idle. Car runs fine. I'm guessing serpentine belt is wearing and/or tensioner bearing?

Any experiences or thoughts? Thanks much.

Seems to be a higher pitch as the RPMs go up.

Then your suspicions may be correct. You can remove the serpentine belt temporarily to see if the noise goes away or just change it since they are pretty cheap and easy to change.

If that does not fix your issue then you will need to remove the timing belt to have the tensioner inspected.
