Cleaning maf sensor/resetting ecu??

Does anyone reset their ECU after cleaning their MAF sensor?

If the idiot light was on, definitely clear codes.
And clearing codes doesn't always "reset" the learned values in the computer (adaptives).

The PCM will readapt learned values as you drive, even if you don't reset.




IMO It has been really rare to need to clean these MAF sensors here.
Biggest problems I see are cheap filters with poor design gaskets, damaged gaskets, and the flunkies that put them in.
Flunkies seem to let bugs and leaves get on top of the filter and get caught in the MAF, or JizzyLubes that use the cheapest filters and the rubber gasket doesn't seal properly.
