Trade subwoofers?
Does anyone want to do a straight trade of subwoofers with or without enclosure.
I have an Image Dynamics IDQ15 with a wedge box. It sounds good, but it's just too loud. I've outgrown the loud bass and want something smaller and more subtle/crisp sounding.
If anyone in the local area (Los Angeles) wants to trade subs, let me know what you have.

Re: Trade subwoofers?
Sure it makes sense. The sub I have now is too loud and takes too much space. I want something that doesn't take up as much room and can still give me a little bit of bass to compliment my other speakers.

If you didn't add in the "takes up too much space" bit, I'd recommend turning down the gain on your sub amp..

Tried that lol. Have the head unit fader (sub amp connecting to rear pre-outs) set to F6 (out of F10). If set to even, I can't get the sub to shut up even with the gain all the way down!

Lol, yup. Very serious. The same amp used to drive a pair of 12" subs that didn't have that problem, but with this thing, it gets tooooooooo loud.
I just turned 26, so I'm an old man now lol. "Turn down that music you damn kids!!!!"

hah, I'm in the same boat. I turn 26 next month. I got a JL13TW5 that can hit hard if I want it to. For now, I have it set for a happy mix of bass and music. A compliment I actually got from one of my friends, he said that I had my system tuned for the perfect balance of music, instead of the normal "boominess" that people usually have when they install a subwoofer.

Gah.. and here I thought my 13.5" was excessive.. My box is super tiny though. it's something like 15" x 18" x 5.5"
I don't recall the actual measurements, but thats the joy of it's 2.5" mounting depth

Re: Trade subwoofers?
Mine is in no way small. I have a tuned ported box that I can barely fit in the opening to the trunk. I literally have to put it at about a 45 degree angle and kick it in. The tuning on it is amazing though it sounds like a sealed box but alot louder. I payed $150 for the box and the frame on the speaker has too big for a standard 12" speaker hole so I had to cut the box in about 6 places and make a spacer to get the sub to fit properly. But it was worth it in the end. My single 12 puts most dual 12's to shame!

OP, if I was closer-then we could do something.
