Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
So here is the Bomer Big Brake kit
This kit has done well on another forum so I figured I would throw it up on here
this kit fits fits the 01-05 7thgen civic. the 6thgen civic (if you have the Ex or Si front knuckles), and almost positive it fits the honda fit but still trying to find a fit to test it on.

unpainted $375 shipped anywhere in the U.S. Painted $380 shipped anywhere in the U.S. Just let me know what color you want. The calipers and brackets have been glass beaded and washed so they will more than likely look a rusty brown color if you get them unpainted cause the metal oxidizes fast as you can see in the pics of the new calipers
all kits will be shipped via USPS
their are only 6 kits in this batch and this is the third batch I have made

If you are looking at getting this kit then you probably already know but if you don't this bumps you from a 10.2 inch rotor to an 11.1 inch rotor. It runs Honda Prelude calipers and pads which are significantly bigger than your stockers. this kit will out brake a 7thgen on hawk HP+ pads while the kit will still be on OE spec pads. A number of people are already running this kit. Boilermaker, skipbarber, CuriosG, alpha5, bryan, buddafest, toaster, midnight civic, and Myself and a couple of others. And so far everyone that I have met that has experienced the kit loves it the amount of braking ability is insane
Kit includes:
11.1 inch Rotors
Prelude Calipers
Pads
mounting bracket
and instructions
This kit is 100% bolt on and uses the 99 honda Prelude base/Sh pads so if you need new pads it easy and you don't need to get some crazy custom pads. also all of the rotors, calipers, and brackets have been test fitted to make sure they go together they way they are supposed to

This has been on my list of things to upgrade on my car for a while now. I can't afford it right this second now. Some one should buy these though.

yeah well CuriousG and I had a little too much fun on 7.5lbs of boost and we think it is somewhere around 250 hehehe
and Nice yeah the kits have been doing really great everyone that has one loves it I could never go back to stock brakes.
02civicrider/bryan called me the other day saying thank you and I was like why? he then told me my brakes saved his life cause some lady ran the stop sign in front of him. I know they have saved my *** a bunch
It's a steal of a deal

Re: Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
it is not really off it has the same bias as a last gen honda prelude. Honda like to use the same proportioning valve on almost everything and the like to keep it at a 30/70 or 25/75 split can't remember which one.
the front end will dip a little more but it feels just like a prelude

Re: Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
^ yep at least half the people running this kit have rear drums.
the rear brakes don't really do that much on these cars. I found that my rear disc swap only cut back a little bit on the dive on the car when hitting the brakes basically when slowing down the back would not hike up as high but that was about it.

Re: Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
I finally broke down and went on that other site to check your build thread. I believe someone on ephatch might be selling the D3 front brace. Might want to check that out. I'd scoop it up myself because he is local but I don't have the money for that either.

Re: Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
I ripped the rear v brace off the car richmond after the snow this year was really cruel to me I just can't run them any more but that doesn't bother me too much since I am now stupid fast. and I don't really have the money for it since I just bought the Mfactory LSD it arrives monday but thanks for the heads up
Re: Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
I agree this is a good question rotors will eventually need to be replaced when they are out of specs and cant be turned anymore. Granted could take a few brake jobs but is there a replacement that can be purchased?

Re: Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
I will continue to make rotors even if the kit stops selling. I know that I am not over on this forum too much anymore but any time this thread gets posted in I get e-mailed so i know to respond I am also always on 7thgen.
but anyways the rotors are 94 prelude rotors re-drilled to a 4x100 pattern. since I have a jig setup and all the tooling it takes me about 20 mins to crank out a set of rotors. but worst case scenario you could always have a machine shop make them. Also the is essentially the same type of kit that fastbrake makes so you can always call them up or go online and get the SpecR rotors. just ask for the 11 inch rotors for the 7thgen spec R kit that use the type R calipers. last I checked their rotors were about a $120 for a set not including shipping.
I have not had to make a replacement set for anyone yet but you would be looking at $80-$85 shipped. and if I don't have any rotors in stock it will take me about a day to get some more so you are looking at a 2 to 3 day turn around on rotors if I don't have a set in stock I usually keep at least one spare set in stock at all times. which means if I get to the post office in time it will ship out that day. So you should have to worry there is already at least 15 people out there with my kit and eventually they will all need rotors and even if my civic completely blows up for like the 35th time and I get out of the game I will still make kits and sell rotors promise.
And since we are talking about rotors and I know this question will come up it always does. I do not do cross drilled or slotted rotors for a reason. 1 they are stupid expensive. 2 they don't last as long as blanks. and 3 and most importantly they hurt your braking performance. the reason this kit brakes so well is cause of surface area. with the cross drilled/slotted you loose surface area. and for every centimeter you gain of surface area you gain between the pad and rotor you gain something like either 11%or 13% extra braking capacity. also me and a bunch of the OG's from the DC area who have pioneered a lot for the 7thgen community have tested almost every single different rotor out there that is available and the rotors that I am using on the kit seem to work the best the have the best braking ability and they last the longest and I have yet to see one crack
It should their is a really easy test you can do to see if it fits go out to your car and measure you rotor if you have the 10.2 inch the kit will fit if you have the 9 or 9.5 inch rotor it won't fit and you need to switch the knuckles first. but last I checked all the ex for the 6th gen have the 10 inch rotor which mean they have the appropriate knuckle. so go out an measure and let me know and that should tell me if it fits or not.

Re: Bomer's Big Brakes!!!!!!!!
well sorry but I have been in the 7thgen scene before a majority of the members that are on now could even drive and I have had my hand into some of the biggest and most pioneering 7thgen stuff out there
