I don't think you have any worries about it clearing the lip. Worse case scenario you go to autozone and buy a larger exhaust hanger for 2 bux and the exhaust will hang a little lower.
This is not my car...this is just a pic I found on google images. I don't even think this is the SP2, it looks like the Evo2. But the have the same the size and the SP2 muffler tip is curled inward for a more subtle look.

Re: Greddy SP2
here is the lip i'm talking about. I will measure the width of the clearance later today and let you know and maybe you can do the same for me? Another thing is it has to stick out far enough or else it'll look kind of tacky,( i have that muffler tip all the way out) btw, compared to the stock piping does it hang lower or the same? and were you happy with the noise level during low RPMs?

Re: Greddy SP2
The exhaust will be a perfect fitment for your car. I will fit just right, it will stop at the right point and give you a smooth look and WONT burn your rear bumper, if that's what you're worried about. Teh exhaust will stop right about the same poit you have your current muffler tip. It uses the same exhaust hangers as the OEM exhaust so it won't hang lower, so you don't have to worry about scrating it in potholes or on speedbumps. In the world of tuning hondas, there are 4 exhausts the can be placed in the uber quiet exhaust category.

Apexi WS2

Will be very quiet at idle, and WOT will present you with with a very endearing exhaust tone.

this one kind of looks rusted, but I'll take your word for it.
btw does it sound like the car inthe video?
I also have an automatic, any potential problems there?

Re: Greddy SP2
Well the metal turns a little bronze after usage so I think that's the color you're seeing but that's also very minimal. It sounds exactly like the car in the video, since my exhaust has very little usage on it, the sound will only get better because the exhaust has yet to be broken in. Drivetrain doesn't matter with the exhaust. Auto or 5spd works fine.
Re: Greddy SP2
When I had mine on, I also had a kamikaze with it, so I gained roughly 5-6 whp. I had a CAI intake also, so that's roughly another 2 whp. Do to the free flowing system, yes there was an increase gas mileage. Roughly 2-3 mpg. I guess another way to put it, is after I took off my system It was hard to burn rubber and the car was not fun to drive, not whatsoever.
