everything that runs the car is electronic, from the computer to the stereo. The factory wires connect the battery to the chassis to provide a ground for these devices. Now the factory wires on our cars are so small that they inhibit current from flowing to its full potential. The stock grounds are also mounted to painted surfaces, which do not conduct electricity as well as bare metal. Upgrading the ground wires can show benefits such as brighter lights, more reliable starting, and even more hp. Bottom line is it makes the whole electronic component of the car function better, with less resistance. Voltage tuning on the lancer evo has shown gains of 10whp just from upgrading the ground wires and adding a voltage regulator. It is already well established that grounding upgrades are effective, if not for power, then at least for decreasing stress on electronic components. This is a mod every civic should have.

i have the black ground kit and the silver ignition kit on my car. You can see one of the black wires that runs right next to the silver one in the middle, then the other two are kinda hidden around the battery. like i said before, its not really for looks just to have colorful wires running all over. Its more for functionality and the grounds happen to be under the fuse box and next to the tranny.

not completely. you could use the battery ground since it doesn't matter where the battery is, but the other wires are designed for a d17 engine.

they ground the ignition coils like in the last pic. there are similar kits like this except its a plate instead of wires. Supposed to give faster starts. the valve cover area is not grounded stock so it should make some difference. Ground wires are more for electrical performance. you may gain 1-2 hp but its mostly for making electronic devices and lights work better.

no offence gearbox but couldn't the wires going from coil pack to coil pack be a little shorter, or could we possible modify the wire cover on top of the engine to kind of hide the wire a little?

im sure he could make it shorter but you wont be able to hide the wires under the coil packs.. best he can probably do is wrap them around the front..

well thats why i made them two separate kits. some people don't like alot of visible wires showing and some do. The main factory replacement wires are the most important (and black makes it easily hidden).

who is interested in blue for both ground kits? I found some wire but I just need to order and assemble them. Supplier has been good about sending me stuff within 3 days.

ya i would recommend them for any car. the factory wires are very small and restrictive. Electrical current will be able to circulate better with larger wire (less resistance). It won't do much for power but will make electronic devices work better, which is pretty much everything on the car. lights, ecu, stereo, etc. they have been proven to help as far as voltage circulation. It won't be something you will really notice but it helps.
