hahaha ok i finally decided to sell my screen
i might sell my car so this is the beginning of my back to stock
anyways heres some pics
a few cracks have developed in the paint so you might want to re finish it
theres one small one on the upper right corner
and one long one along the bottom of the bezel where the lcd housing meets the radio bezel.
i know theres a few people that wanted to do this but have failed or run into lots of problems
this would be perfect since theres only a little bit of minor work involved
if anything you can just buy this and use the screen
a new lcd housing for the xenarc runs about 25 bucks
the screen is a xenarc 700tsv with USB touch screen, 2 AV inputs and one VGA input. i bought it for around 400 brand new.
the screen has a brightness of 400 nits
it is a little hard to see in direct sunlight but you can manage
its only when the sun it shining directly on it
you can turn the brightness up and its bearable
better than most lcds ive seen and used.
the center dash isnt the greatest place for a screen
plus the angle its at totally kills it wth sunlight.
im looking for 350 shipped, firm.
or 250 + your stock cd player and radio dash.
i think 350 shipped is a great deal considering the screen was 400, a new radio center dash piece was 40 shipped
fiberglass and bondo was around 20
also it took me about a week to get it molded and painted.

wow, thats strange. i was just thinking last night about buying a lilliput screen and doing the same thing. hmmmm...... i want this so bad! but i'm sure if i should make one myself or buy yours.
whats the condition of the screen? and size, 7"? and how did you have it run windows. i want to do this, but the only problem i can think about is where i'm going to put my cd player/ dvd.

i would recomend sanding it down and reinforcing some parts
thats all that needs to be done really
however it does work fine as is. its just cosmetic.
the screen itself is in great shape
it is 7 inches, xenarc 700tsv.
think of xenarc as a more refined lilliput, hahahaha
i was tempted to buy the lilliput for this cuz it was only around 275 but the xenarce was def worth the extra dough.
if you bought a new housing for the screen you could take it out and have an external one. if you bought this just for the screen it would still be worth it.
im running an in car computer setup right now
the good thing about the screen is that it has 2 av inputs and one vga, total of three inputs.
at one point i had my PS2, computer and dreamcast connected to it. the buttons on the front control everything from switching source to contrast, brightness etc...
if you look closely i put my headunit where the cigarette lighter used to be
i had to make that one out of fiberglass too.
anyways ask away i can help you determine if this is what you need.
i forgot to mention that this screen turns off automatically if there is no signal coming into it. so you can just turn off the source and the screen with take care of itself. it will turn back on when a video source is detected.
