Is this the same one from before which had no gains?? or is it good for FI? I remember like a year ago on this site some people had bought one, correct? And it hurt the power if Im not mistaken, but if you still have your turbo on, that could be another story. Sorry if Im wrong

if u have a turbo, good u could prolly run more boost since our current one is plastic and that could break easily. if u dont have a turbo... well i feel sry u had to waste ur money.

man it must have taken them a long time to come up with that idea.
Brain storming sesion:
guy 1: Dude check out what i made in welding class today, a box!
guy 2: You know if we throw the flange from a header on that thing, and a TB we can slap it on my car!!
Seriously though looks like something someone would make in welding class....that wasn't expensive right?

i had that thing. i used it spray with nitrous and it made my car very slow. spraying with a 50 shot and the stock manifold i was able to hit 14.7. after putting the kms the best i saw was a 15.5. i guess it would work with a turbo setup. i believe some one on the site has one with a turbo and he said it runs great
Didn't KMS just do a really limited edition run on those things, a few people on the board got them, I don't think anyone had good results. Even people saying they're good for FI, I think that just might be conjecture because people think that a poorly designed metal manifold is better than a well designed/research plastic one.
Its a box w. a flange and some holes drilled into it. It probably took the R&D department more time to decide where they wanted to go for lunch that day than it did to decide how to make that thing.

dude that plastic will last way longer then the block and head ever would.. i dont think thats really a issue, you might be confusing a plastic intake blowing up with the misuse of nitrous inbetween gears. that **** isnt the plastic that your remote control is made out of, its pretty high grade, have you ever held our intake in your hands yet?

the only way it would be better if it was designed like the 6th gen with the intake to the side, the flow of air is still ****ed up coming in from the top like that, if whoever made that was smart they would have relocated to the side to get more of a flow

members have gotten the KMS intake manifold in the past and were not happy with the results. BUT, from what i can tell from the pictures, it looks as if KMS has redesigned the manifold because the one people got before had longer (very long) runners, and this one has short runners. perhaps there will be a difference?
looks like that dh-racing POS but better welds i must say...
personally, i think it would be great for a turbo application, since someone stated before, ours is plastic and will break...it should also dissipate heat faster...
but the bad side is that it's not completely "smooth" on the inside...the plastic intake manifold we have is plastic, therefore molded out of something and is completely smooth on the inside...now if someone can make our intake manifold but out of metal, i would definitely buy one...

People still buy those parts and they are making good money out of it.

why are people insisting that our intake mani will break under high boost? your right about the heat and the plastic will eventually warp over a long period of time but to break from high boost conditions? i seems unlikley

sorry guys i posted b 4 i went to bed, but yes it doesnt show n e gains for a n/a motor but a boosted motor is another story.
contrary to what robo1040 says our plastic i/m BLOWS. litteraly i lost mine at like 10-11 lbs. i got a crack right down the back side.
i wouldnt even consider a boosted car with a plastic i/m again. it may not look the greatest but it does its job. the weld r perfect.
