First, check your battery connections. Excessive corrosion on the terminals or loose connections can cause it. See a bunch of white/green crap on the terminal posts or terminal connections? Take a wire brush to knock it all off and make sure the battery connections are nice and snug.
Still doesn't start? Try jumping it. Could be enough charge to have your dash lights and everything, but not enough to start the car.
Still no dice? Probably your starter.
