Sub Suggestion

So I might be looking for a new sub. Starting to hear some clipping in mine so know that I have been pushing it a little to hard. Still under warranty so may just finish it off, and have the warranty company just refund the price of the sub (was only around $100)
Currently running a 10" Alpine type R DVC wired at 2 ohms powered by a Alpine PDX 600.1.

The problem I have is that my box is a sealed box at appx .5 cubic feet.
There are very few subs that work in that small of space. I prefer the tight bass of a sealed box over a ported box. And I don't want to loose any more room in my rear hatch.

Any one have suggestions of a sub that will handle 600+ watts and work in that small of a space. Would like to keep it under $300.

The outer dimensions of the box are 16" wide, 12" high, 13" deep at bottom and 9.5" deep at the top. I could go up to 15" high but would prefer to not have to buy a new box.

Re: Sub Suggestion

Damn!!! that is a small space for a 600W sub. I was going to suggest an Infinity sub but they don't have one powerful enough for the size box you have. Maybe another Alpine?

You might be able to put in a JL 10W3, I remember them working down to .635 ft^3 sealed. Maybe try make up some volume with some polyfill stuffing?
