Amp wattage choice HELP!
Hi, so I have a 12in Pioneer sub with 400w nominal and 1400w max I would like to have enough power going to it to fell the bass but I don't want to blow the sub, get a noise complaint, make ears bleed or bust any windows. How many watts should my amp be? Providing links would be superb.
Ive heard 1000w but I've also heard about 300w (which seems way underpowered for it's capability) here is the link to my excact sub:

Re: Amp wattage choice HELP!
ignore max wattage for the most part and base your amp on the RMS. with the sub being 400w RMS, get an amp that's right around 400w RMS.
