Rep Power: 0 HELP with choosing a new amp
Hey guys i been researching and can't seen to find a good amp for my 2 10" Memphis audio power reference subs. I know they can only be wired to a 1 ohm load impedance or 4 ohm impedance so amps that work great with these to will be help.
Subs Features Each:
RMS/Peak (w)250/500
Sensitivity (Db)87
Magnet Size (Oz)50
Mounting Depth (in)5
15PR10D4 - Memphis 10" DVC 500 Watt Subwoofer
I want to get an amp at a reasonable price and that will give me at least 200 watts to each subwoofer. Thanks and bring on the suggestions.
Also would you recommend wiring 4ohm impedance or 1 ohm ?

The power rating is 250Ω @ 4ohm. Also, they're dual voice coil subs (thanks google. lol)
If you wire it up like this, you'll get 4Ω to both subs, I think.. This is the setup that Alpine recommended for 2 subs and 1 amp when I had my 4Ω dual voice coil type-r sub
A JL 250/1V2 is a 250W monoblock that'll give you your power needs
or if you wanna keep your system all memphis audio, bridge a 16-MC4.75 amp to 2 channels and it'll give you 230W @ 4Ω

Thank you for all the great info and wiring diagram for 4 ohm load impedance, by any chance have you heard of cadence audio amplifiers?
This might be a dumb question but, if i wire them like your diagram and get a mono amp that outputs 300 watts x 1 at 4 ohms, does this mean since the load impedance of both subs is 4 ohm, will each sub will get 300 watts each?

no, each speaker will get half the amp output, so 150w per speaker. 300w will probably be enough, but i always like to get an amp that's bigger than my total RMS load. so with those subs, i'd get at least a 500w RMS amp, if not a 750w. i've had the amp equal to the load and the amp bigger than the load. if the amp was sized to the load (3 different systems in the past) i pretty much had to keep the amp gain maxed out. if the amp was bigger, then i could dial it back and the amp would run cooler.
